Peter Hacks wollte eine Lesung von Thomas Mann in München besuchen und fand sie ausverkauft. Er bezog an der Eingangstür Posten, und als der Dichter erschien, hielt er ihm das Couvert eines Briefes entgegen, das er für den Notfall eingesteckt hatte. Sie lassen mich nicht hinein, klagte er, beleidigt, wie er sich fühlte.
